Who are you?

Hello! My name is Alexandra, but you can call me Magpie, Alex, or Xan. Alexandra's a bit formal for our purposes, I think.

I'm following the tradition of the first post on a blog being introspective. Most of the posts on this blog will be related to me in some way; the whole point of this blog is to be about me and the things I enjoy writing and talking about.

But exactly what those things are varies from moment to moment, and I think that is what makes my want to write a blog so compelling. If I had to come up with a technology story to write every week I would delve into technology news that I'm only reading to get ideas for the blog, and that would quickly turn into work for me.

Let me start by saying I have no delusions of grandeur here. I'm not trying to be the next big thing on the Internet, I'm not trying to start a blog that's Journalism Worthy, and I'm not expecting to make money from this site in any capacity, let alone enough to be a Free Agent on.

Some things to know about me: I write and code; I play video, board, and tabletop games; I watch/listen to and occasionally make things on YouTube, Twitch, and podcasts; I like pens and notebooks, especially fountain pens and good paper; I like technology of all kinds; and I enjoy writing and talking about relationships, LGBTQ identities, and communication.

So that's what this blog is going to have. Technology, pens, books, my writing, other peoples' writing, my experiences, relationships, LGBTQ content, talking about talking. All of my projects will come from this site, whether they be videos or podcasts or apps or websites. And, along the way, I'll also just be posting my thoughts on things.

Long-form content! Ho!
